The Wyoming County Health Department has “Navigators/In-Person Assistors” within our organization that are certified to help consumers and small businesses look for health care coverage through New York State’s Marketplace (nystateofhealth.ny.gov). These services are free and confidential and offer all insurance options with no bias. Open enrollment is available any time of year if your income falls below the 200% federal poverty level or if you have a qualifying event (loss of insurance, birth, divorce etc.) or for Medicaid, Child Health Plus or Essential Plans.
Depending on income, you may be eligible for tax credits to help with Qualified Health Plan premium costs. Premium assistance is available up to 400% of the Federal Poverty Level Guidelines. Medicaid, Child Health Plus, and Essential Plans are income based. See attached income guidelines.
