The Physically Handicapped Children's Program (PHCP) is the financial assistance component of Children with Special Healthcare Needs (CSHCN). The PHCP is designed to ensure access to quality health care for chronically ill and disabled children from birth to 21 years of age that live in Wyoming County and meet medical and financial eligibility criteria. Eligible medical conditions include but are not limited to Cerebral Palsy, Cystic Fibrosis, Epilepsy, Diabetes, Phenylketonuria (PKU), Blood Disorders, Hearing Disability, Spina Bifida, Congenital Malformations and Brain Injuries. Direct care services that may be covered by PHCP include medications, durable medical equipment, PKU formula, hearing aids, office visits, laboratory tests and x-rays. Providers must bill any other insurance first as PHCP is the payor of last resort. Funding is provided by Wyoming County and he New York State Department of Health. |
