Title V Senior Employment Program for Individuals age 55 and over.  Contact the Wyoming County Community Action at (585) 237-2600.

Foster Grandparent Program. Opportunity for Seniors age 60+ to make a difference in the life of a child. Volunteers are matched with classroom teachers, in schools, day care centers and vocational sites to work with children and teens. They volunteer to help with literacy, tutoring, academic and social support under the supervision of a site supervisor. A commitment of 15-40 hours per week is required. Experience Works. Experience works helps low-income seniors, with multiple barriers to employment, get the training they need to find good jobs in their local communities. Contact Rich Saxton at 21 Rochester Street, Warsaw, NY 14569. (585)786-2318

Senior Companion Program. Senior companions provide one-on-one support for adults with developmental disabilities. Senior companions assist clients with paying bills, grocery shopping and finding transportation to medical appointments. In order to join, Senior companions must:

a) Be 60 years of age or older.

b) Volunteer 15-40 hours per week.

c) Meet income eligibiltiy

d) Provide friendship to a person with developmental disabilities.
