Program Goal To ensure that wastewater treatment systems are
designed and constructed in accordance with Article IV of the Stanitary Code
of the Wyoming County health District and Appendix 75-A of the New York
State Stanitarty Code to minimize contamination of surface and ground
waters.
Program Activities -Conduct
field testing (site review, percolation tests, topography, geology) -Design, review, asnd issue
approvals for individual wastewater treatment systems. -Consult with engineers and contractors -Perform construction inspections on completed systems -Issues completed works certificate -Investigate complaints
Program Information No person shall construct, install,
connect, alter, or extend a wastewater disposal system, consisting of a flow
of less than one thoustand gallons per day, without receiving a written
permit from the Wyoming County Health Department.
What are the steps needed to
complete this process? -A
completed application with appropriate fee submitted to Wyoming County
Health Department.
-Percolation test/site review of property site (property owner of contractor
must schedule) -Wyoming County
Health Dept. or Professional Engineer completes proposed design. -Appoval of proposed design and permit issued. -Final inspection of completed system prior to issuance
of Completed Works Certificate.
